Two adults smile as they point to a drawing design on a T-shirt created by the wearer in high school classroom.

The KREM Cares Team visited Emily Ahlborn's forensics class at North Central High School on Monday to announce that the sophomore's artwork was selected as the winning design for this year’s Tom’s Turkey Drive T-shirts.

Emily’s classmates received shirts featuring her design, which will be worn by volunteers during the 27th annual food drive. The artwork was chosen from around 100 entries by sponsor Numerica Credit Union.

North Central High School student Emily smiles with a hand on her heart in a classroom as she is recognized for winning a T-shirt design contest.“To be a part of something like this, this is an amazing thing that people do for our community and all the volunteers that are there,” Emily said. “To be able to say that, yeah, I was able to make the art for the shirts they wear, that makes me proud.”

NC principal Tami McCracken and Emily's mom also joined in the surprise celebration (watch the reveal).

Congratulations, Emily!
