Female Candidates will be scored on the following:
Physical Tryout (Fight Song Dance, Band Dance, Short 8-Count Dance, Defense/Offense Sideline Cheer, Timeout Cheer, Jumps, Tumbling, Spirit);
Grade Point Average from Semester 1;
Teacher Recommendations;
Interview & Application;
Cheerleading, Guidelines & Sports Knowledge written test. Guidelines found here
Male Candidates will be scored on the following:
Physical Tryout (Megaphone Work in fight song, cheers, Partner Stunt: shoulder sit or higher, Tumbling, Spirit)
Grade Point Average from Semester 1;
Teacher Recommendations;
Interview & Application;
Cheerleading, Guidelines & Sports Knowledge written test. Guidelines found here
The coaches will use these scores to choose teams.
Varsity (+ Guys) - Game Day Competition/Sideline Team
Practice Mondays
Competition Practice Wednesdays and/or Thursdays
Cheer at Football
Thursday Assigned Volleyball
Wednesday or Thursday Assigned Wrestling
Friday Assigned Basketball
Game Day Competition Team
Rubber Chicken
JV Cheer - Sideline & Possibly JV Game Day Competition
Practice Mondays and some Wednesdays or Thursdays
Cheer at JV Football - Home Games only
Cheer at JV Volleyball - Home Games only
Cheer at Varsity Wrestling - Home Matches only
Cheer at JV Basketball - Home Games only
Eligible for subbing at Varsity Games (with material knowledge requirement met)
Eligible for Varsity Competition Team (with tumbling skill requirement - standing back handspring)
Traditional Coed Competition Team will be selected based on performance at practices in early Summer 2025.
