SPHS Course Registration

Step 1: Enroll in Spokane Public Schools

If you are new to Spokane Public Schools, and Shadle Park is your neighborhood school, you will first need to register with SPS. If you are transferring from a non-neighborhood "feeder" school in SPS, and want to choice into Shadle, follow the application process. Feb. 15 is the priority deadline for choice in and option school applications. All applications submitted after Feb. 15 are considered in the order they are received, and after wait listed students have been offered enrollment.

Students in 8th grade who live in the SPHS attendance area boundaries will automatically be rolled into Shadle for the next school year. We will visit all feeder middle schools to meet with students and enroll them in classes. There is NO need to complete the district registration materials if you are currently in a feeder middle school.

Step 2: Register for Classes

It is vital that you work with your SPHS counselor to determine course registration. Individual course request forms will be completed and distributed to students and families by their counselor starting in February once 1st semester is completed. General information will be shared in current SPHS Homeroom classes Feb. 5, and course selection will occur in English classes the following week. For a detailed timeline, please visit the Current SP Student Registration page

Student Checklist

High school planning involves more than just deciding on the right classes to take. The SPHS counseling team came up with this checklist to encourage students to have a great high school experience.
