Spokane Public Schools students in the Trade High School will be able to take part in hands-on learning experiences in these fields and programs:

Students learn and practice introductory health care skills (i.e. take blood pressures and other vitals) while earning credits toward their high school graduation requirements.

Students will take Medical Terminology – a required SCC course for many Allied Health degrees.

Students learn and practice introductory schematic, design, and production skills (i.e. CAD Drawing to 3D print objects) while earning credits toward their high school graduation requirements.

Students will take Engineering Graphics/CAD I – a required SCC course for CAD Design and Drafting degrees.

Students will get Academic Advising from SCC Academic Counselors for technical degrees, transferring to a 4-year college or direct to work support.

Students will learn about financial aid resources like the FAFSA and scholarships to support their degree or certificate pursuit as well as direct to work support like cost of tools/equipment.

Students will have access to dual credit opportunities that help earn college credits toward degrees and career preparation listed above.

Additionally, 11th and 12th grade students will be able to enroll in technical Running Start programs at SCC, hear about the Skilled Trade Prep Program, and understand how to be a competitive applicant to SCC’s Apprenticeship Programs.
