Allergies & Special Diets

Spokane Public Schools has nurses who ensure kids with various allergies and special diets are taken care of. Watch the video below to see how the district takes care of kids with allergies and special diets and how parents can work with district staff.

If your student has a life-threatening allergy, please follow these steps:

  1. Click the “Health Information and Forms” button

  2. Open “Allergy & Asthma Orders” menu

  3. Select the “Allergy Plan & Order” form

  4. Have a licensed healthcare professional complete the form

  5. Return it to your school nurse

If your student requires a special dietary accommodations for reasons outside of a life threatening allergy (i.e. Celiac disease, lactose intolerance), please follow these steps:

  1. Click the “Health Information and Forms” button

  2. Open “Digestive Disorders” menu

  3. Select the “Digestive Disorder Health Care Plan” form

  4. Have a licensed healthcare professional complete the form

  5. Return it to your school nurse

If your student has a special dietary request related to behavior, please work with your special education case manager to incorporate it into their 504. If your student does not have a 504, please visit follow these steps:

  1. Visit the Spokane Public Schools Special Education

  2. Click “File a child Find”

  3. Complete the form

  4. Submit to school psychologist
