Special Education Supports & Services
Spokane Public Schools is committed to the principle of providing education in the least restrictive environment and offers a wide variety of supports and services to serve all students. We believe that every student is unique and may have diverse learning needs.
These supports and services help ensure that all students have access to a quality education tailored to their specific educational needs. By offering such a diverse range of options, Spokane Public Schools strives to create an inclusive and supportive learning environment that promotes the academic growth of every student.
All students are considered gen-ed first and more intensive interventions are only considered as necessary. Access to these interventions is determined through the IEP team and based on a variety of factors including student progress data, diagnosis, evaluation results, prior intervention, and medical need.
