    Mon. 5/13 - Mandatory Senior Class Meeting during Connect Time in SPHS Theater (Last one before graduation)

    Mon. 5/27 - Memorial Day (No school)

    Wed. 5/29 - Golden Ticket Distribution (2nd period classes)

    Wed. 5/29 - Josten's at SPHS during both lunches (Cap & Gown Distribution)

    Wed. 5/29 - Senior Decision Day/Torch Passing (1:00 in the SPHS Theater) 

    Wed. 5/29 - Athletic Awards Night (6:00pm)

    Mon. 6/3 - Yearbook Distribution

    Tues. 6/4 and Wed. 6/5 - Senior Finals

    Wed. 6/5 - Golden Tickets Due (Counseling Center)

    Thurs. 6/6 - Senior Walks at Elementary and Middle Schools (8:00am)

    Thurs. 6/6 - Senior Night of Excellence (6:00pm at SPHS, invite only)

    Fri. 6/7 - Graduation Rehearsal (9:00am @ The Podium)

    Fri. 6/7 - Senior Lunch (Immediately following rehearsal)  

    Fri. 6/7 - Move OUT con (1:30pm @ Shadle)

    Sat. 6/8 - Graduation @ The Podium (2:30pm)

    Cap and Gown Distribution Details:

    • Cap and Gown distribution will take place at Shadle Park High School on May 29th (during both lunches). Caps and gowns need to be ordered online ahead of time from the Josten's website www.jostens.com.If students/families have questions about cap and gown orders, please contact Pete Baurenfeind by email at peter.bauernfeind@jostens.com or by phone at 509-468-1608.

    Golden Ticket Information (Senior Checkout Forms):

    • Seniors will receive their Golden Ticket on May 29 in their 2nd period classes. Those who are not enrolled in a 2nd period class at Shadle will pick up their Golden Tickets from the SPHS Counseling Center.

    • Once seniors have completed the Golden Ticket, they must return it back to the Counseling Center by June 5th to be cleared prior to graduation.

    • Seniors with an incomplete Golden Ticket will not be eligible to walk at graduation.

    GOLDEN TICKET COMPLETION STEPS:

    • STEP ONE: Collect signatures from all teachers listed on the form. Each signature will indicate you will pass each class this semester. Teachers are instructed to NOT sign your form until you have met all requirements needed to earn credit for their course.

    • STEP TWO: Visit Mrs. Charbonneau and have her sign off your High School and Beyond Plan (HSBP).

    • STEP THREE: Return your laptop and power cord. If you are currently enrolled in CWA/AP GOV, you will return your laptops to the library as a class. If you are NOT enrolled in this class at Shadle, please return to the LIBRARY.
      • Please let our Librarian, Mrs. Hanson, know if you have questions concerning laptop and charge cord collection.
    • STEP FOUR: Visit the Business Office to have your fees and fines assessed. Diplomas and transcripts will be held until these are cleared by the Business Office.
      • Please note the following two points of emphasis: 
      • May 29th is the first date that the SPHS Business Office will begin signing Golden Tickets.
      • All student’s current laptop (and charger) are included in the fee total listed on the golden ticket (Laptop is $424.00 and charger is $28.00). Providing student’s turn these items in without damage this total ($452.00) can be subtracted from the fee/fine total.

    • STEP FIVE: Complete Senior Exit Info section at the bottom of the GOLDEN TICKET.

    • STEP SIX: Turn in your COMPLETED Golden Ticket to the SPHS Counseling Office on or before June 5.

    • RUNNING START, SVL, & NEWTECH STUDENTS: Class completion and grades will be verified through Mrs. Filippini

    Graduation Day Details:

    • Guests: There is NO LIMIT to the guests a student can bring and thus NO TICKETS NEEDED. Please plan to arrive an hour early to ensure you can find parking and get your seat.

    • Entrance/Security: ALL PARTIES attending will pass through security screening.

    • Clear Bag Policy & Prohibited Items: The Podium has a clear bag policy meaning guests may carry one clear plastic or vinyl bag no larger than 14” x 14” x 6”. Small clutch bags no larger than 4.5" x 6.5" are also permitted. Additionally, cow bells, megaphones, or other noise makers are also not permitted.

    • Parking: See the Podium Parking Map for information regarding where to park for your student's graduation ceremony. *** Parking will be limited due to a graduation ceremony taking place before Shadle. Please come early and plan accordingly! ***

    • Dorian/Graduation Photos: Dorian has partnered with Waldo, a platform that utilizes face recognition, for senior graduations.  Families are prompted to pre-register and include a photo of their senior. Then, 4-5 days after picture day, those families that pre-registered will receive a text or an email letting them know that their senior's photos are ready to view and order! We hope that this transition will allow for improved photo delivery time, quicker proofs and an easy ordering process.     Graduation Expectations:

    • Attire: Students are expected to dress professionally and wear attire appropriate for the ceremony. Costumes, props, etc. are not permitted.

    • Behavior: Students are expected to behave in a manner that reflects the culture of graduation and does not detract from the moment for other graduates, families, or the community.

    • Decorating of Cap:
      • Graduation is a day about both the entire graduating class and you as an individual graduate.
      • Tribal and other cultural decorations under RCW 600.500 are allowed.
      • All other decorations must be approved by Mr. Dunn by June 5th. No caps will be approved after this date.
      • Students wearing caps with unapproved decorations may be withheld from walking at graduation.
    • STUDENTS WHOSE ATTIRE OR BEHAVIOR DETRACTS FROM THE MOMENT, INCLUDING THE CELEBRATION OF BOTH THE INDIVIDUAL AND THE CLASS AS A WHOLE, WILL HAVE THEIR DIPLOMA HELD UNTIL AN IN-PERSON MEETING CAN BE SCHEDULED WITH THE PRINCIPAL, SUPERINTENDENT, THE STUDENT, AND THEIR FAMILY.
