About the Team

  • Lewis & Clark Speech and Debate is one of the largest organizations at Lewis & Clark High School, with 50 members.  Throughout the school year, the team travels to tournaments at the regional, state, and national levels.

    Students compete in the following events: Lincoln-Douglas Debate, Congressional Debate, Public Forum Debate,  Policy Debate, Extemporaneous Speaking, Informative Speaking, Impromptu Speaking, Original Oratory, Program Oral Interpretation, Dramatic Interpretation, Humorous Interpretation, and Duo Interpretation.

    The Lewis & Clark Speech and Debate team competes in the Greater Spokane League, the National Catholic Forensic League, and the National Speech and Debate Association.

    Any Lewis & Clark High School student may join the team at the beginning of the season.  The tournament season begins in September and concludes in March with national championships held April - June. For more information please contact Natasha Carpenter at NatashaC@spokaneschools.org.
