Spokane Public Schools has been honored as one of just six school districts in the country as a 2024 “District of Distinction."
SPS was awarded for excellence in providing access and opportunity to all students, an initiative that had significant impact on student success, engagement and overall educational achievement.
“Our staff works hard every day to ensure that each student feels a sense of belonging and is supported in achieving their dreams," said Superintendent Dr. Adam Swinyard. "I'm proud that their work is being recognized by the national educational community through this award."
SPS received this recognition from the District Administration Leadership Institute, a national pre-K12 organization dedicated to advancing educational leadership, ensuring that the nation’s schools are equipped with the visionary guidance needed to thrive in an ever-evolving landscape. Its magazine District Administration is the most widely received and read publication for school district-level leaders nationwide.
