The bell ringing. Hundreds of steps pounding the halls as students pass from class to class. Laughter, chatter and play. These are the sounds of school – sounds you’ll hear in SPS Extra.
SPS Extra is a Spokane Public Schools podcast dedicated to sharing stories about activities, athletics, clubs, performing arts, and all the other ways our students and families form communities inside and outside of the school day. From teachers and coaches to students to community leaders, you’ll hear from inspiring people, learn about extracurricular options and have the chance to get involved yourself.
In this season’s first episode (available mid-September), we’re talking to students about their passions outside the classroom and introducing Engage In Real Life, an initiative to get every kid, every day, off the screen and into a real life club, sport, or other activity. Plus, you’ll hear from one of our five new Engagement Navigators, whose major focus is connecting every one of our students to the extracurricular activity that’s perfect for them.
