“How can I be a good leader and be bold about telling people to not do something and still be kind and promote pride in our school?”
That’s what Ferris High School senior Ella Brinkman wanted to explore when she attended Greater Spokane League Sportsmanship Summit at Mount Spokane High School with other high school student athletes and leaders from across the region.
Students left the event on Aug. 19 empowered to promote good sportsmanship on their teams and in their school communities through authentic engagement with athletes, coaches, officials, and fans.
Win or lose, positive experiences for all are what matter most to students as they engage in activities with their peers and develop skills that are preparing them for life after graduation.
