We appreciate all school administrators for their hard work and dedication to students and staff each and every day. Since October is National Principals Month, we wanted to take a moment to get to know some of our community's newest principals.
Get to know Jessica Gaddy, principal at Cooper Elementary School.
What do students call you?
Students mostly call me Mrs. Gaddy or Principal Gaddy, but sometimes they call me G-Lady or New Principal Lady.
Where were you before you became principal at your school?
Before I came to Cooper, I was your neighbor down the road at Bemiss. But I actually grew up in this neighborhood and went to Cooper as a kid. I already checked; no current student lives in my childhood home.
What are you most excited about for the 2024-5 school year?
I am excited to work with new families, talented teachers, and great kids. Everyone has been very welcoming, and I just want to help my community be the best it can be.
What’s a fun fact about you that your school community would be surprised/excited to learn?
My husband and I just bought an old farmhouse on a few acres, and we spend all our free time repairing and restoring it. I hope to have a huge garden and greenhouse. I love to grow things, especially propagating many plants in the spring to send out into the world.
Welcome (back) to Cooper, Mrs. Gaddy!
