Six middle school student sit on stairs facing a camera while having a conversation with one another.

“When I have a full day with all my sports and games, I feel way more energized.”

Six weeks into the new school year, we regrouped with six Glover Middle School students to see how they were adjusting to the district’s updated phone policy – no phones bell to bell at elementary and middle school and no phone during class in high school. Check out their first impressions in early September.

The feelings these Falcons shared are natural responses to a significant change in their lives. But they also reported seeing the benefits, and they have had an easier time adjusting to time without their phone when it’s replaced with sports, playing outside, and face-to-face time with friends.

Engagement in real life is making a difference. The journey continues.
