“Once you join theatre crew long enough, you’ll be able to just quickly think of ideas of how to use it in a different way that still adds meaning to the story.”
As our high school theatre students prepare to stage six productions this fall, we’re going behind the scenes to hear about the different creative components students learn to bring these plays to life.Resourcefulness is the name of the game when it comes to building high school theatre sets and sourcing materials and props. At Rogers High School, drama students like Ozzy Mojica share their vision for each production with technical director (and bookroom clerk) Olie George, and it’s a group effort to transform an empty stage into a diner.
Rogers High School will present “8 Minutes Left” on Nov. 15-16 and Nov. 21-23 at 7 p.m., and Nov. 16 at 2 p.m. Tickets are $5 for students and senior citizens, and $8 general admission. Break a leg, Pirates!
