Do you have a student who will be new to Spokane Public Schools next school year? Do you need to apply to "choice" in to a school outside your neighborhood-zoned school boundaries, or to an option school/program?
Registration is now open for the 2025-26 school year for students who will be in grades K-12 (preschool registration opens in the spring - stay tuned!).
Registration is ONLY for:
Students who will be new to the district
Incoming kindergarten students who will be age 5 by Aug. 31, 2025, and are not currently attending their neighborhood-zoned school for SPS PreK
Students who wish to "choice" in to a school outside their neighborhood-zoned school
Students who wish to apply to one of our option schools/programs
If your student is currently a 5th or 8th grader who has already "choiced" to a school outside their neighborhood-zoned school, you may need to re-apply for choice if their next school is still outside their neighborhood-zoned school boundaries. Check your assigned schools here.
The priority window for choice is Jan. 1 - Feb. 15. School Choice Request Applications received in that window will be processed in a lottery to determine acceptance. Applications received after Feb. 15 will be added to the school waitlist in the order they are received and according to priority order designated in School Board Policy 3131.
If you are a new student applying for choice or an option school/program, you MUST first complete a New Student Registration Form.

Our in-depth registration process may include different requirements depending on your family’s situation and needs. The following documents are needed to complete new student registration:
Proof of age (birth certificate, passport, etc.)
Proof of third-party verifiable address (a utility bill would work)
Parent/guardian photo ID
Medically verified immunization records (2 options)
Option 1: Download this form to be completed and signed by a health care provider and parent.
Option 2: Create an account with MyIR to download a copy of your child's immunization records from their system. These records are system verified and do not need the signature of a parent/guardian or healthcare provider.
Document files can be uploaded during the online registration process. Accepted file types include DOC, DOCX, PDF, TXT, RTF, XLS, XLSX, BMP, GIF, JPG, JPEG, and PNG. You can also bring physical copies into your school after submitting your online registration form.
