“It is imperative that we form a school community that promotes peace, love, individuality, and acceptance.”

On Friday morning, student members of the Flett Middle School MLK Club shared the importance of building a safe, loving and accepting community at their school. Six students, including 8TH grader Emily Ahlborn, delivered speeches to honor Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s vision of a Beloved Community where all are cared for, absent of poverty, hunger, and hate.

After this weekend, the school will adopt a Beloved Community statement to guide their school alongside its Mission Statement.
