Dear Future Tigers and Families,
We are excited to invite our future LC students & parents to join us on Wednesday, January 29 at 6:00-7:30pm for our Future Tigers Information Night. We will begin in the LC Auditorium in the main building. If you need a non-step entry, you can enter through our new Commons which is to the west of the main building. There is free parking under the freeway.
We will share information on our great programs, classes, and supports for our students to help your Tiger be successful at Lewis and Clark High School. We’ll begin with performances by LC music and theatre students, then a short presentation by LC administrators and counselors. Then, you’ll have an opportunity to go into different breakout rooms to ask our teachers specific questions about the course options each department has to offer. Also, our incredible LC Booster Club will also be in attendance with LC spirit gear for you to purchase.
We will begin visiting middle schools soon thereafter to go over course options and to register for the freshman year classes. Your child has been rolled into the LC database for next year, so you do not need to do anything at this point to register your student for LC. Once we have their course requests, the registration process is complete. Please visit our registration website to view the registration form, course catalog, and more. Once we begin building the master schedule, students will be able to see their draft schedule on the student and parent portal throughout the spring and summer. In late May/early June, we’ll host 8th graders for a welcome tour (more info coming soon). Here are the registration dates where we will be visiting middle schools:
February 6 - Sacajawea & Yasuhara Middle Schools
February 7 - Spokane Public Montessori
February 11 - Odyssey & Glover Middle Schools
February 12 - Flett & Chase Middle Schools
February 19 - Peperzak Middle School
If you would like your child to attend a different SPS high school next year (or you know of someone who wants to transfer their student to LC), you can apply for a choice transfer here. Until transfers are approved, students will register for classes at their home high school. The deadline to apply for round 1 is February 15.
Starting this week, you will begin receiving the weekly LC News You Can Use Email so you can be connected to the great things happening in our learning community.
If you have any questions about the event or registration throughout the spring, please feel free to contact Theresa Meyer or Janet Lane.
Thank you and we hope to see you soon,
