Lidgerwood Elementary Single Point of Entry Policy for Safety

Ensuring safety at Lidgerwood Elementary is a top priority. Lidgerwood Elementary is updating procedures and practices with Spokane Public Schools' guidelines for Single Point of Entry. The aim is to maintain a safe, welcoming environment while streamlining practice in our building to be consistent with practice of other buildings in Spokane Public School. Please adhere to the following guidelines:

• Drop-Off: Use the sidewalks for dropping off children. Keep the bus bay on Lidgerwood St. clear. Staff lot should not be used. Parents may walk students to the vestibule at the main entrance. In order to limit disruptions and maintain a safe environment, hallways will be for students and staff.

• Pick-Up: Meet child on the blacktop or sidewalks after school. If a child is leaving during the school day: parents will sign their child out in the vestibule, use the single point of entry buzzer in to request child, and meet their child in the vestibule at the main entrance. Keep Lidgerwood's bus bay clear. Parking is allowed on Nebraska Ave, Rowan Ave, and Addison St. Avoid double parking. Staff lot should not be used.

• Classroom Access: Please have/make appointment with staff ahead of time. Use single point of entry buzzer in the vestibule to check in at the office and wear visitor pass.

• Office Access: Students are working on and growing in a variety of skills, including their ability to regulate their behavior and emotions. We want to respect and protect their dignity, as well as respect their privacy and safety when they are working on these skills in the office. Please have/make appointments with staff ahead of time. Use single point of entry buzzer in the vestibule to check in and wear visitor pass from the office.

• Lost and Found: Make appointment with office staff.

Please make an appointment with an administrator if there is a special circumstance that should be accommodated.

Thank you for helping us create a safe learning environment for all students.

Sincerely,

Lidgerwood Elementary School
