A teacher is viewed from behind as she faces a classroom with young adult learners.

“How can we meet the needs of the older students and the younger students?”

Midge Rigsby helped answer that question three decades ago when she helped establish Community IMAGES. This SPS Secondary Transition program is designed for young adults with disabilities ages 18-21 who continue to need transition services beyond 12th grade.

Her 46-year career has allowed Midge to support multiple generations, even within one family. Amy Hicks graduated from IMAGES in 1999 and her son George, a 2024 Shadle Park High School grad, is now in Midge's final class before she retires this spring.

Thank you, Midge, for your lifelong dedication to helping hundreds of young adults learn the skills they need as productive, independent, and engaged members of our community.
